Welcome back! In the first Wrap Up of 2024, we welcome new students, staff and whānau; celebrate scholarship success and the Top Scholar award in Painting; induct alumni onto the Wall of Fame, and share sports news.
Term may have ended but it’s not too late to reflect on the busy and successful final weeks of term. From Toi Whakaari graduations and Wellington Trades Academy awards to success in animé and our Year 9 and 10 celebrations, what better way to end the year than with a Wrap Up that is bursting with energy and achievement. We wish all our whānau a relaxing and restorative summer break and look forward to 2024.
This week the Wrap Up brings news of achievements for current students, staff and alumni. From Matua Shannon’s exhibition at Pātaka Arts + Musem, to an MPhil graduation from Cambridge University and our very own senior prize-winner lists for 2023, this Wrap Up is bursting with achievement in many forms. And if you are looking for something to work to of your own, why not consider joining WHS staff and students in the Aotearoa Cycle challenge for 2024?
This week the Wrap Up brings you news of success at the SPOTYs and He Kākano’s visit to the Police Museum. We also include important information for all senior students regarding NCEA Exam Derived Grade Applications.
In this week’s Wrap Up we share photos from the Senior Celebration Evening and senior Final Assemblies. We celebrate our senior Art students’ achievements in their end of year exhibition and follow He Kākano as they visit local cafes to practise ordering kai.
