Medical and Fees insurance
If you are studying abroad in NZ, medical and fees insurance is compulsory as it protects your fees, covers your visits to doctors and hospitals and if something is lost or stolen. The school can arrange an International Student Travel policy with Southern Cross insurance. The details of the policy are available on the SCTI Website. The school will assist with all insurance claims for students with SCTI.
If you arrange your own insurance before you arrive, you must bring proof of this with you when you arrive at school and it must be translated into English.
The Accident Compensation Corporation provides accident insurance for all New Zealand citizens, residents and temporary visitors to New Zealand, but you may still be liable for all other medical and related costs. Further information can be viewed on the ACC website
