Open Evening 2026
Our Open Evening for students in Years 8 and above who are considering enrolment at Wellington High School in 2027 will take place on Monday 8 June. We will be offering three sessions. Tickets for all sessions must be pre-booked.
- 4.30pm – Principal’s address followed by tour of the school, finishing by 5.45pm
- 6.00pm – Principal’s address followed by tour of the school, finishing by 7.15pm

For our rangatahi Māori and those ākonga passionately interested in learning in Te Ao Māori spaces, we offer the following programme starting at 4.30pm:
- 4.30pm – Welcome, kai and kōrero from our senior Māori students and kaiako involved in Toi Māori, Te Ao Haka, Te Reo Māori, Kapa Haka, Waka Ama. Hosted by Te Whānau a Taraika in Taraika Marae. This includes the Principal’s address.
- 5.15pm – Tours around the kura, finishing time of 6.30pm

Places for all events are limited. We encourage you to limit numbers to one adult per prospective student so that all who wish to attend are able to do so.

Onsite construction means there is no parking available for Open Evening 2026. Please use public transport (buses 3, 18 and 27 stop along Taranaki Street and by Massey University on Wallace Street), and numbers 1, 2, 23 and 29 run along Adelaide Road past the Basin Reserve. From the Basin Reserve it is a short walk up to Wellington High School.

Parking may also be available in nearby streets e.g. Tasman Street, Hopper Street, Rolleston Street.
The numbers attending mean you may need to wait outside for a few minutes before you come inside – please dress for winter weather!
