We welcome back all our learners to school after the holiday, and we hope you have all had a restful break. Term 2 is another busy one, especially for events for our feeder schools, and there are a few key dates, and adjustments to some school days, that we’d like you to note:
- Wednesday 5 May: Senior Parent-Teacher interviews begin at 2pm.
- Classes finish at 1.20pm and students will be dismissed. The cafeteria will not be open at lunch.
- Tuesday 11 May: Teacher Only-Day — school will be closed.
- This is a Wellington-wide day to help teachers prepare for NCEA changes that will begin to be implemented in 2022.
- Monday 24 May: Junior Parent-Teacher interviews begin at 2.30pm.
- Lesson times will be shortened and students will be dismissed at 2.20pm.
- Wednesday 2 June: Evans Bay Intermediate Year 8 visits to WHS
- School finishes at 12 noon and will run on an alternative timetable.
- Thursday 3 June: South Wellington Intermediate Year 8 visits to WHS
- School finishes at 12 noon and will run on an alternative timetable.
- Friday 4 June: Teacher Only-Day — school will be closed.
- This is a Wellington-wide day for teachers to connect through the Wellington Loop.
- Monday 7 June: Queen’s Birthday — school will be closed
- Monday 14 June: Open Evening for 2022
- School will close at 3pm.
- Friday 9 July: End of Term 2
In cases where the school day finishes earlier, some classes may choose to offer tasks on Google Classroom to finish at home. School bus times cannot be changed so students may need to catch a public bus when we close early.
