The Wellington High School Jazz Band is gearing up for another outstanding night of Jazz at Meow to raise funds to compete at the 37th Annual National Youth Jazz Band Competition in Tauranga this year.
The musical extravaganza will be hosted by Dominion Post columnist and well known satirist, Dave Armstrong. Dave co-wrote the much celebrated TV series – Seven Periods with Mr Gormsby, with Danny Mulheron and Tom Scott. The series was was inspired, funnily enough, by Dave and Danny’s student days at Wellington High School.
The evening will showcase a wide range of music genres including gypsy-jazz, reggae, and funk/pop and classical, all played by past and present WHS students and teachers, and featuring – of course – the one and only Wellington High School Jazz Band.
Come along and enjoy an evening of music and hilarity.
