Notification of a Paid Union Meeting

Dear parents, caregivers and whānau,

The Post Primary Teachers’ Association has directed members to attend a round of branch-based union meetings held under the provisions of Section 26 of the Employment Relations Act 2000.

The meeting for Wellington city PPTA members will be held at 1pm on Monday 26 June at Te Rauparaha Arena in Porirua. To enable Wellington High School teaching staff to attend the meeting, school will finish at 12pm. This means that periods 1 to 3 will run as normal on this day only.

For He Kākano students, there will be no supervision possible after 12pm and SESTA taxis will be arriving at 12pm to take students home.

I understand that this is another disruption to learning on top of the rolling strikes and this will not be welcomed by some of you. I am hopeful that the outstanding issues will be resolved soon and we can look forward to term 3 being free from disruption. In view of this we have decided that the final day of term (30 June) will be a full day, and students will finish at 3.20pm, not 1.20pm as previously communicated.

Ngā mihi
Dominic Killalea
