In the final wrap up of the year, share Friday’s celebrations at Junior Prizgiving and enjoy the range of activities our Junior students undertook during the short course programme. We also look ahead to 2021 with a link to the term dates. Most importantly, however, we wish all our families and whānau a restful and relaxing break over the summer.
Year 9 Beach Day – cancelled
Due to the expected cold wet weather tomorrow (Thursday 10 December) the Year 9 Beach Day at Scorching Bay has been cancelled. This week we include information for the final week of term and invite you to complete our whānau survey. Roots and Shoots, and Outdoor Education have been off site at Worser Bay. He Kākano took part in the AWD Floor Ball tournament and four teams of Year 9 students took part in the Wellington Junior Science Tournament. Students have been busy in Food Tech preparing for Christmas. In addition we recognise student success through Wellington Trades Academy.

DVC teacher Rowan Heap has received Best Design Award for his non-verbal illustrated narrative Tokitoki and James Caddell. This week we celebrate his success and share images from his book. We follow Year 10 Art students as they work with Xoë Hall on her mural and join He Kākano at Capital E. We also follow our junior girls volleyball team as they learn how to referee their sport.

This week we start with important information for seniors re: exams and study leave. From then on there is much to celebrate starting with our Halloween Junior Dance,! It’s been an amazing week in the Arts with news of our Year 13 Arts exhibition, record acceptances to Toi Whakaari and success in the Manawatu Jazz festival.
