TEACHER CODES

You can find all teacher codes here to match the codes on student timetables.  You can email teachers directly on firstname.surname@whs.school.nz

WHS CAR PARK & PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Please be aware that the WHS carpark and Taranaki Street can get very snarled at the end of school due to a large number of students leaving all at once (approximately 1200 people exiting the campus).  We ask that if at all possible, students are met by parents in cars at a nearby alternative location.

The school buses are run by the Regional Council and GO Wellington (Metlink).  The Island Bay school bus is particularly crowded and some students are missing it due to the crowding.  If you are concerned about this, we ask that you contact the bus operators directly as the school has no control over the number of buses provided. Contact details are here.  Students who are over 16 can still get a child fare

Students who are over 16 can still get a child fare with school ID. Information about new IDs will be out next week.  In the meantime, students can come to Student Services to get a letter confirming their student status.

YEAR 9 INFORMATION EVENING

There is an evening here at school to meet the teachers and find out more about how our school works.

Date: Thursday 9th February
Time: 6pm start, probably finished about 7.00 – 7.10pm
Where: The Riley Centre (school hall)

The evening will begin in the hall where our principal will say a few words. Following this, the Year 9 will introduce herself and speak briefly about high school life and the future ahead for our students. After this, you will be invited to go with each team of rōpū teachers to one of the levels in our main block.

Rōpū teachers will go through some information about the school. You will then have a chance to talk to the teachers and to other parents.

Please check the name of your student’s rōpū teacher before the night to help you know who you will be in a group with.
