Feedback on our Communications survey

Thank you to the 214 families who replied to our Communications survey last month. We are working through your valuable feedback to help us improve the way we share information with you. Key feedback that you shared included:

  • 60% of you feel that information is easy to find
  • 90% prefer direct email for important notices
  • You appreciate the feedback from our teachers
  • The website, email and the WHS app are the three most popular ways to check what is happening across the school
  • …and we can still improve on the website, making it clearer where to find different information, and finding ways for you to easily track your child’s progress.

37 families have indicated they would like to be further involved as we develop our comms approach and we will contact them directly.

Many thanks!

Senior Prem Debate team through to the final!

Congratulations to our Senior Premier A debate team — Rilke Comer, Rusheen Draper and Xandi Gobbi —  who have made the finals in the Wellington Speaking Union competition. They took out the semi-finals against QMC negating the moot that ‘This house believes that ‘We were only following orders’ is a legitimate defence in International Criminal Court trials’. The finals will be held at Parliament on 11th September, against HIBS, and we wish them well!

Aleia Spendiff won her grade at the College Sport Wellington  Squash Championships on Wednesday 15 August held at Club Kelburn, while Otis Brown and Ollie Markwell came 3rd and 4th in their competition.

Well done, WHS, and thank you to Nick Markwell for managing the team.

CONGRATULATIONS to Christo Matheson and Josh Campbell on selection into the NZ U19 Mens Floorball team.  They are playing 2 games in September one against Japan on Friday 28 September at 7pm and the other against Australia on Saturday 29 September at 7pm.  Good Luck to you both!
