Welcome to 2018

On behalf of the Board of Trustees at Wellington High School we welcome new students and families to our school as well as welcoming back our current school families.

Congratulations to all students who sat NCEA exams at the end of last year. The Board are currently analysing the results from these exams to inform our decision making for the year. We encourage all parents and students to realise the importance that attending school has on learning.  Attendance is vital for good grades and encouragement from home to come to school each day is a vital part of supporting all our young persons’ learning.

This year has already started in a busy way with the school preparing to host the Education Review Office (ERO) in our school, arriving on Monday 26th  February. We look forward to the feedback that the ERO team can provide us.

The Board are working with the Senior Leadership team to review our Strategic and Annual plans. We invite parents to have a say in this as well and as such please respond to the survey that is included in this Weekly Wrap-Up below.

We continue to have some much needed construction work done in the school, in particular, in the school hall. A new fire alarm system upgrade will occur this term as well.

Finally, we encourage all new families to join our Te Whānau a Taraika. You are all welcome to attend the next hui which will be held in Taraika on Monday 19 February at 6pm.
