CONGRATULATIONS to Lawrence Webster for selection in the NZ U19 Development Volleyball team
CONGRATULATIONS to Oliver Sundin, Lucas Earley, Josh Campbell and James Matheson for selection in the NZ U19 Mens Floorball team
Outstanding results from our Girls 3rd XI Football team. They won the Wellington Central competition last week with a 4-1 win over Onslow, and then they took on St Orans for the Wellington Division 3 Regional Championships. WHS won won 3-1.
WHS 1st XI Girls Hockey took on St Orans in the Girls Reserve 3 Hockey final. WHS came away with a Silver medal, but this team showed gutsy determination right through until the final whistle. This year the team were new to playing together and we look forward to seeing what next year brings for them.
Uniforms & Fees
With most of our Winter Sports finishing, all sports uniforms are to be returned washed to the Sports Office in a named plastic bag as soon as possible.
This is also a good time to check to see if all sports fees have been paid.
BRIGHT SUMMER NIGHT WEBSERIES
Wellington High School students Gala and Jack Buchanan are in a webseries that is a take on William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.
This version is set at a house party.
You can watch it HERE!
BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION
Last term, lead by teacher Paul MacDougall, and in memory of the late Anne Grimmer, WHS staff had a month of fundraising opportunities to raise money for the Breast Cancer Foundation. We raised a $3,073.00.
The Foundation will use that money towards meeting their main objectives of reducing the number of New Zealand women developing and dying from breast cancer. The Foundation is committed to the fight against breast cancer.
