Skate Competition

1307As part of the Athletics Carnival,  there was a skate competition.  Skating is one of the most popular sports at WHS so this has been a popular addition to the carnival.

There is a group trying to raise funds to fix Newtown Skatepark “treetops” where we hold this portion of the Carnival.   They have raised half of the funds needed to improve this space and you can help them out by pledging here.

First up was the International Picnic at Wilton’s Bush to welcome students to the department and the new school year.  It was a stunning Wellington day and the students all had a fantastic time.

Gong Xi Fa Cai!! The department enjoyed songs, speeches, dumplings and gifts for the Spring Festival. Both International and Kiwi students learning Chinese were included in a wonderful afternoon of celebration.
