On Wednesday 18 June the Feminist Club hosted Nicola Young, Sarah Free and Iona Pannett from the Wellington City Council.

The City Council women talked about the individual, social and historical challenges that women have faced in roles such as theirs, and what they personally have done to overcome these barriers. They also outlined the Wellington City Council’s updated plans to make the city safer for women, particularly in regards to sexual assault.

Our students asked some great challenging questions, which showed the depth of understanding and discussion that the Feminist Club is known for.
